Police issued Krish with a Family Violence Safety Notice after his niece, Nikita, alleged he had sexually abused her. Krish denied the allegations, and believed that Nikita’s boyfriend had coerced her into making the claims.
Nikita later admitted her boyfriend had threatened her with intimate photos. Duty lawyers from PCLC and Victoria Legal Aid explained the context of Nikita’s report to the Magistrate in Court. Despite resistance from Victoria Police, the Magistrate refused to make an interim order and struck out the Police application.
